Will Mariah Carey Buy Suzanne Saperstein’s Estate?

Will Mariah Carey Purchase Suzanne Saperstein's Estate?

Real estate watchers are about the only ones that have kept a close eye on Suzanne Saperstein, the “billionaire divorcee”. Now, almost 3 years after putting her $ 125 million Fleur de Lys estate on the market, rumors are that it might just be sold. Suzanne Saperstein may end up not needing a mortgage loan modification, if the latest rumors are true.

Has Suzanne Saperstein's home finally been sold?

The home of Suzanne Saperstein has been on the market within the depressed California housing market. Despite numerous calls to do so, Suzanne Saperstein has categorically refused to cut prices on the 35,000 square foot, 12 bedroom palace. Nick Cannon and hubby Mariah Carey have been rumored to put a bid in on the estate now. Fleur de Lys, the estate that includes the home and five manicured acres, also comes with a first-edition library, screening room, ballroom and multiple kitchens. Depending on the down payment and loan that she gets, Mariah Carey would be looking at a $709,000 mortgage payment on a 30-year, good interest rate loan.

Suzanne Saperstein’s divorce

Of course, Suzanne Saperstein is known for a lot more than just her multi-million dollar home. David Saperstein, an oil billionaire, was married to Suzanne Saperstein for years. On board the company jet, during a layover in Texas, Suzanne was served divorce papers from her husband. David Saperstein divorced his wife so he could marry their previous nanny. The divorce ended up being one of the highest-profile and most expensive divorces in L.A. history.

Suzanne Saperstein the rogue socialite?

Rather than living on her husband’s name, though, the Swedish previous model has taken the money to “explore new things.” In amongst anything else, Suzanne has helped her daughters start a fashion line that raises money for drunk driving awareness and taken up Latin dance competition. Suzanne Saperstein is also spending $1 million or more on starting up a gender-neutral ballroom, which will welcome same-sex ballroom couples right along with opposite-gender couples. She may not be marching on the White House or causing riots, but this ultra-rich socialite is quietly — and expensively — making a name for herself.
