Nightmare On Elm Street Reviews Are A Nightmare

Nightmare On Elm Street Reviews Are A Nightmare

Nightmare on Elm Street is the next batch of evidence that Hollywood can’t come up with anything original. I’d pay payday loans no fax to see something marginally different. The Nightmare on Elm Street reviews are beginning to pour in, and it seems not numerous individuals are pleased with Freddy’s return. It might be that even Freddy Krueger himself would be afraid to see the film, fearing embarrassment.

Ebert review slashes Nightmare on Elm Street

The Chicago Sun Times Roger Ebert is not pleased. The Roger Ebert review for Nightmare on Elm Street gives it two thumbs down. It bored him, and he didn’t mind saying it. “I stared at Nightmare on Elm Street with weary resignation.” He mentions a line of teenagers “who are introduced, haunted by nightmares and slashed to death by Freddy. So what?” Remakes carry expectations, but that doesn’t mean they won’t be boring. (An unoriginal movie is not original and is dull? Well isn’t really that a shocker?)

Rotten Tomatoes hurled at the film

The critics on Rotten Tomatoes don’t like it either. Most horror films, given, aren’t Shakespeare. Rotten Tomatoes gave Nightmare on Elm Street a 13%. North, which most agree is the worst movie ever, has a 12% rating by way of comparison. That doesn’t look good. Film critic Peter Howell said “There are a lot of things wrong with this remake of Nightmare on Elm Street, not the least of which is that it was made at all.” (Ouch!)

Perhaps Freddy is better off dead

Remakes are gambles. They don’t always work, although some are dynamite. (Batman Begins, Star Trek for instance – those were superb.) Though a review won’t determine how much people actually like Nightmare on Elm Street, it seems the remake about Freddy Krueger, the guy who kills you as part of your sleep, is really putting individuals to sleep.
