Nightmare On Elm Street Reviews Slash At Slasher Flick

Nightmarish Reviews For Nightmare On Elm Street

Nightmare on Elm Street is the next batch of evidence that Hollywood can’t come up with anything original. I’d pay cheap payday loans to see something marginally different. The Nightmare on Elm Street reviews indicate not every person is thrilled with the return of Freddy. Freddy Krueger could be scared of it himself, from sheer embarrassment.

Ebert review slashes Nightmare on Elm Street

Roger Ebert reviewed it for the Chicago Sun Times, and is not amused. The Roger Ebert review for Nightmare on Elm Street garnered two thumbs down. It bored him, and he didn’t mind saying it. “I stared at Nightmare on Elm Street with weary resignation.” He also talks about a procession of teenager “who are introduced, haunted by nightmares and slashed to death by Freddy. So what?” Granted, it is a remake, and in franchises certain things go with the territory, but it appears he thought it was ground retrod to the point of it being dull. (An unoriginal movie is not original and is uninteresting? Is not that surprising?)

Rotten Tomatoes

Rotten Tomatoes has pilloried it as well. Horror films are certainly not Shakespeare. Rotten Tomatoes gave Nightmare on Elm Street a 13%. North, which most agree is the worst movie ever, has a 12% rating by way of comparison. Not a quite picture. Film critic Peter Howell said “There are many things wrong with this remake of Nightmare on Elm Street, not the least of which is that it was made at all.” (Ouch!)

Perhaps Freddy is better off dead

A remake or reboot is always a gamble. They aren’t always horrible. (Star Trek or Batman Begins were both excellent.) Though a review won’t determine how much individuals really like Nightmare on Elm Street, it seems the remake about Freddy Krueger, the guy who kills you with your sleep, is actually putting individuals to sleep.
