Rahm Emanuel soon to get out of the White House

Emanuel is making headlines again. Rahm Emanuel is leaving the White House behind. He isn’t really quitting to farm cabbages either. Rahm is going to run for Mayor of Chicago. Present Mayor Daley is retiring at the end of this term. Rahm has been known to covet the job. Therefore, once the opportunity came up, individuals were talking over it.

A quick departure from Rahm

Numerous have seen and heard the rumors about Rahm Emanuel leaving his position. He was expected to become part of the Chicago mayor election. It is not official that he is running yet. Washington D.C. has put out reports implying that he could be running. According to the Washington Post, an official announcement is due out soon from the White House. The issue is something President Obama will probably need to discuss. He can be doing a later press conference for this reason. White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs confirmed that there are personnel changes that could be discussed in a press conference at the White House shortly.

Just like Daley

Reelection is not something on Chicago Mayor Richard Daley's mind. He decided that it wasn't something he was going to pursue. He plans on retiring after the term he is in. Daley thinks it is time to move on, claims the NY Times. His retirement is the end of a Chicago dynasty. His father, also named Richard Daley, was also a long time Democratic mayor of Chicago. Daley's father was in his post until he died meaning he served from 1995 to 1976. Daley himself has been the mayor since 1989 when he was elected in. For the last 55 years, a Daley has been at the helm of Chicago for all but 11 of them.

Rahm known to want the position

Rahm Emanuel has wanted the position for a while, and has made it clear. Emanuel may be just the one for the job thinking about that Democrats have ruled the city forever.
