Double agent may have a Ramon Mercader type hit requested

The rumored double agent in the Anna Chapman case may use a Ramon Mercader style hit out on him. A high ranking official from the Russian intelligence services defected and revealed information about a spy ring in The United States, involving Anna Chapman. The reference originates from the murder of Leon Trotsky, which was ordered by Joseph Stalin and carried out by Ramon Mercader. Ramon Mercader to kill

Because of spying for the Russian government, U.S. officials were able to arrest Anna Chapman and nine others. A rumored high ranking defector disclosed the spy ring. A recently published article in the Russian periodical Kommersant included some statements from a high ranking member of the SVR, the Russian intelligence service, according to The Guardian. The official claims that “a Mercader” had been dispatched to take care of the defector. Ramon Mercader is being referred to when saying "Mercader." He was sent to murder Leon Trotsky after Trotsky was exiled from the Soviet Union while Mercader was a Spanish agent. The Hero of the Soviet Union award was given to Mercader.

High ranking defector

A high ranking official in the Russian intelligence service is supposedly the person who leaked the Anna Chapman Russian spy ring. He was given a name. The Telegraph reports it is Colonel Scherbakov. This is old news to the president of Russia, Dimitri Medvedev. He is the president of Russia at present. The supposed Scherbakov would bring illegal immigrants from Russia to the United States and plant them in various places under assumed identities. In Russia in July, four agents were exchanged for 10 spies.

Cold War apparently not over

It has been suggested by some that Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, a former KGB operative, is trying to resurrect the Cold War. It makes sense considering Russian agents are operating in the U.S.
